The Kids' Club takes ages 4 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and serves the kids dinner at 6 p.m., so parents can have a late meal; babysitting after 11:05 p.m. is extra. The Teens' Club is for ages 13 to 18, open 3 to 11 p.m. daily, with a house DJ, a non-alcoholic bar, a pool table, ping pong and Xbox. For babies, the Baby Concierge lends a crib, bottle warmer, stroller, bathtub and potty seat at no extra charge, subject to availability. Every suite has an ocean view and runs to about 1,100 square feet, and the resort promises a 24-hour butler concierge. A two-bedroom family suite comes with an in-suite teepee, per its suite list.
Jumby Bay Island, Antigua: a private island with butlers

Jumby Bay sits on its own island off Antigua. Its inclusions page lists private butler service and a golf cart with every villa, plus all-day dining, a full watersports program with instructors, three pools, cooking classes and a coral conservation snorkel tour. The Camp Jumby kids' program is for ages 3 to 12, with themes such as Little Chefs, Discover Science and Wildlife and Ocean Adventures, and a certified childcare team offers nanny and babysitting service. The spa has a kids' mani-pedi, and teens get their own treatment, the Tides Teen Massage.
Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda: care from 4 months

Club Med calls Michès the first resort in its luxury Exclusive Collection in the Americas. Kids' clubs cover ages 4 months to 17 years, and Explorer Cove has a splash playground. There are also adults-only zones for couples and older travelers. The Baby Club Med nursery for 4 to 23 months is an additional charge, so price it in if you have a baby. Club Med puts Punta Cana's airport 1 hour 15 minutes away, La Romana 2 hours and Santo Domingo 3 hours, and lists 39 activities included in the stay.
Ikos Andalusia, Spain: all-inclusive that leaves the resort

Ikos Andalusia sits in Estepona on the Costa del Sol, less than an hour from Málaga airport. Its inclusions go further than most: a Dine Out program at local restaurants, 24-hour room service, kids' and teens' clubs for ages 4 to 17, and a complimentary 30-minute beach childcare service for kids 4 and up. Menus at its nine restaurants come from Michelin-starred chefs, and a recent extension added a Heroes Village for kids. The newest villas sleep a family of eight, with a private pool and a barbecue garden.
Curtain Bluff, Antigua: the low-key sports resort

Curtain Bluff includes all meals and nearly all activities in the room rate. The Cee Bee Kids Camp takes ages 3 to 10, five days a week, usually closed Thursdays and Sundays, with a sixth day over peak holidays. Little ones get a shaded sandbox with a jungle gym and a game room, and older kids can join Hobie Cat sailing, snorkeling and waterskiing outside the camp. Childcare staff can be hired for the evening, and family dinners start at 6 p.m. The resort closes for part of the year and advertises a fall reopening, so check dates first.
Beaches Turks & Caicos: the butler upgrade

The Seaside Two Bedroom Luxury Butler Villa Suite has a king, two doubles and a pull-out sofa, near two pools. It adds butler service, a private car transfer, in-room dining and an in-room bar with premium liquors.
Is the luxury upgrade worth it?
Pay for it when the extras replace something you would otherwise do yourself or pay for separately.
- Babies and toddlers: baby gear on loan and longer childcare hours matter most. Grand Velas and Club Med Michès lead.
- Multi-gen groups: a villa with a butler keeps a big group in one place. Look at Jumby Bay and Ikos Andalusia.
- Active tweens and teens: included watersports and teen clubs keep them busy. Curtain Bluff and Grand Velas fit.
