Day-by-Day Plan
5 days, each paced morning to evening. Gold tags mark the nap and rest windows the plan builds in. Places the plan names are pinned on the Punta Cana map.
Day 1: Arrival and Settle In
Morning
Arrive at Punta Cana International Airport and transfer to your all-inclusive resort (Majestic Colonial or Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana are both known for baby-friendly amenities). Check in, locate the baby pool and kids' club registration desk, and request a crib and bottle warmer from the front desk. Keep the morning slow — a short walk through the resort gardens helps baby adjust to the humidity.
Afternoon
Nap / rest built inFirst nap in the room with blackout curtains and AC. After nap, visit the resort's calm wading pool (Majestic Colonial's lagoon pool has a zero-entry section ideal for babies). Splash gently for 30–40 minutes, then return to the room for a feeding.
Evening
Early dinner at the resort's buffet — grab a high chair and request soft/puréed options if baby is on solids. Walk along the lit resort path after dinner for 15 minutes before baby's bedtime routine by 7pm. Parents can take turns heading to the swim-up bar once baby is down.
Named today, on the map
Tip: Pack your own baby sunscreen (SPF 50+ mineral formula) — resort shops charge a premium. Bring a small portable sound machine for naps in a new environment.
Est. cost: $20–$40 (tips + airport transfer; meals/resort covered)Find Day 1 ticketsDay 2: First Full Day
Morning
Nap / rest built inEarly wake-up walk to the beach at Bávaro Beach (accessed directly from most Puntacana-area resorts). Lay a beach blanket under a palapa before 9am while the sand is cool. Let baby feel the sand with their feet — supervised, seated. Return to the room before 10am for morning nap.
Afternoon
Nap / rest built inAfter nap, visit the resort swim-up pool bar area — but stay in the shallow section, preferably a separate wading pool away from the main bar crowd. Bring a floatie ring approved for baby's weight. Feed baby in a shaded beach chair. Second short nap in the stroller while parents have lunch.
Evening
Try the resort's à la carte restaurant for dinner — book early as reservations fill. Request a table away from speakers. Baby-wearing in an Ergobaby or similar soft carrier works well for the evening walk along the beach boardwalk.
Named today, on the map
Tip: The Bávaro Beach surf has a gentle break but unexpected waves can still alarm babies. Stay in the wet sand area and avoid taking baby into the ocean during this trip.
Est. cost: $15–$30 (umbrella rental if resort doesn't include; covered otherwise)Find Day 2 ticketsDay 3: Signature Activity Day
Morning
Day trip to Isla Saona via catamaran, but ONLY if baby is at least 6 months old and the seas are calm. Check with the tour desk — morning departures are typically calmer. Pack a full diaper bag, extra formula/food, and a sun tent. The natural pool stop at Saona offers waist-deep, warm, incredibly calm water that's perfect for a baby's first ocean experience.Book Saona Island Day Trip from Punta Cana with Lunch on Viator
Afternoon
Nap / rest built inReturn catamaran has a party atmosphere — baby-wearing in the carrier helps block noise and keeps baby calm. Back at the resort by 3pm; immediate nap.
Evening
Low-key buffet dinner, then an early bedtime. If baby slept well on the boat, parents can extend the evening slightly with a resort show.
Named today, on the map
Tip: If the sea looks choppy, skip Saona and spend the morning at the resort pool — there will be no refund on tours once you're on the dock. Never skip baby's sunhat on the catamaran.
Book opens Viator; ages and cancellation terms are listed per tour.
Est. cost: $85–$120 (Saona catamaran tour per adult; babies typically free under 2)Day 4: Flexible Family Day
Morning
Peaceful morning in the room and resort — skip the big excursions today. Take a slow breakfast at the beachside café, let baby play with resort-provided toys in a shaded lounger. Visit the resort's kids' club mini area (many allow babies with a parent present).
Afternoon
Nap / rest built inSwim in the main resort pool during off-peak hours (early afternoon most guests are out on excursions). Practice supported floating with baby in the warm water. Return to the room for a long restorative nap.
Evening
Sunset walk on Bávaro Beach with baby in the stroller. Grab fresh fruit from the beach bar. Early dinner and baby's bedtime by 7:30pm. Parents swap for a proper resort dinner or poolside cocktails.
Named today, on the map
Tip: Today is intentionally low-stimulation — babies in new environments often hit an overtired wall by day 4. Keeping it calm prevents a miserable last full day.
Est. cost: $10–$20 (beach souvenirs, optional)Find Day 4 ticketsDay 5: Final Morning and Departure
Morning
Final morning swim in the baby pool before checkout. Pack the night before so the morning is relaxed. Take a final beach photo at Bávaro Beach with baby in their sun hat. Checkout by noon.
Afternoon
Transfer to Punta Cana International Airport. Request an airport stroller if yours was checked at the gate. Most airlines allow you to gate-check a car seat and stroller at no charge — confirm this at check-in.
Evening
Evening flight home. Nurse or bottle-feed during takeoff and landing to help baby's ears equalize. Bring extra zip-lock bags for soiled clothes — travel days are always messy.
Named today, on the map
Tip: The airport has a nursing lounge past security in the main terminal. TSA/customs rules allow formula and breast milk over 3oz — keep it in an accessible bag for screening.
Est. cost: $20–$50 (airport food, last-minute souvenirs)Find Day 5 tickets

Safety Notes
Punta Cana's heat and humidity pose a real risk of dehydration and heat stroke for babies — limit direct sun exposure to before 10am and after 4pm, and always have a shaded retreat available. The ocean current at Bávaro Beach can be deceptively strong; never take a baby into the surf. Always verify with your pediatrician that baby is cleared to fly before the trip. Most major all-inclusive resorts have a medical center on-site, but confirm the nearest children's hospital before arrival — Hospital General Plaza de la Salud in Santo Domingo is the best pediatric facility in the country (about 2.5 hours from Punta Cana). Pack oral rehydration salts (ORS) in case of diarrhea from new foods or formula mixing with local water.
